Purpose and Responsibilities

The purpose of the advisory board for Packaging is to strengthen collaboration and communication between Danish Producer Responsibility (DPA) and businesses operating in the packaging sector. The advisory board provides a structured forum for ongoing knowledge sharing and dialogue, ensuring that industry experience and perspectives are reflected in the implementation and administration of producer responsibility.

The advisory board serves in an advisory capacity to DPA’s Board of Directors and organisation, providing input on both strategic and operational matters relating to producer responsibility for packaging. It discusses practical aspects of implementation and may make recommendations on how producer responsibility can be managed in practice while respecting the legislative framework and maintaining a level playing field for all market participants.

The advisory board’s responsibilities relate exclusively to the legislative areas and functions delegated to DPA. Its role is therefore limited to matters within DPA’s remit. Activities may include:

• Advising on the implementation of legislation, regulation, and policy initiatives affecting DPA’s areas of responsibility.
• Evaluating ongoing and completed projects and providing recommendations for future initiatives.
• Discussing relevant topics and providing input on matters of importance to the packaging sector.
