Questions about your invoice from DPA

Questions about your invoice from DPA

Do you have any questions about your invoice from DPA? Below, you can find information about where we send your invoice, how payment is made, what to do if your invoice contains errors, and what happens if you do not pay on time.

What you need to know about your invoice

If you are a Danish company or an authorised representative of a European company, we send the invoice via Digital Post to the company’s CVR number.

Only foreign companies without an authorised representative receive the invoice at the contact email address registered with DPA.

DPA administers six separate product areas subject to producer responsibility:

  • Electrical and electronic equipment
  • Batteries
  • Vehicles
  • Packaging
  • Fishing gear
  • Single-use plastics

Each area of producer responsibility is self-financing, so the fees are calculated separately for each area.
Your invoice specifies the product area to which it relates. The invoice lines show the categories for which fees have been charged and the quantities on which the calculation is based. These quantities correspond to the quantities you reported for the relevant year.

If your invoice is based on an incorrect quantity reported, you should generally pay the invoice and correct the error when you submit your next report.

Once the correction has been registered, we will automatically offset any overpayment against your next fee invoice.
In exceptional cases, we may place the invoice on hold. This may apply, for example, to obvious data entry errors that result in a significant and unreasonable financial burden.
To have your case assessed, please send an email to info@producentansvar.dk and include:
  • Contact details
  • CVR number
  • The correct quantity for the relevant category

We assess each case individually.

Payment

DPA issues invoices with a payment term of 30 days. Payment must be made to the bank account specified on the invoice.
If you pay from a foreign bank account, you are responsible for any fees charged by your bank or financial institution.
DPA must receive the full invoiced amount.

Some collective schemes offer to handle the payment of your fees to DPA. When a collective scheme acts as your payment administrator, it pays the fees on your behalf.
However, as the producer, you remain responsible for ensuring that payment is made correctly and on time. If payment is not made, DPA will collect the amount directly from you.

If we do not receive your payment by the payment deadline, we will:

  1. Send you a reminder about the outstanding payment.
  2. Notify you that your registration will be deactivated.
  3. Deactivate your registration in the Danish producer register.

If a company fails to pay the statutory fees, this constitutes non-compliance with its producer responsibility obligations. As a result, the company may no longer legally put the products concerned on the Danish market.
If the company wishes to put the products concerned on the market again, it must register again in the Danish producer register. This requires the company to pay a new registration fee as well as the outstanding amount.
