Reduction Quantities (Re-export) – How to Proceed
For certain product categories, the legislation allows you to reduce your reported quantities placed on the market by the amounts that have been exported by a subsequent Danish sales entity.
Before You Begin
It is important to distinguish between:
- Quantities not placed on the Danish market (for example, if your company sells directly abroad)
- Quantities placed on the Danish market
Reduction quantities apply only to products placed on the Danish market that are later exported out of the country by another Danish company.
Key Information About Reduction Quantities
- Requests for reduction quantities must be created and approved within a reporting period.
- Reduction quantities are linked to the year in which the products were placed on the market. This means you can only submit a request once you have reported quantities placed on the market for that reporting period. It is possible to report quantities and reduction quantities within the same reporting period.
- You can submit one request at a time. However, multiple requests can be made within the same reporting period, provided the total reduction does not exceed the original quantity placed on the market.
- A collective scheme may submit reduction quantities on behalf of producers.
How to Submit a Request – 4 Steps
- Enter the CVR number of the Danish company that exported goods purchased from you.
- Select the categories with reduction quantities (for each product area you are registered for).
- Enter the quantities exported out of Denmark.
- Confirm the information and submit the request.
After the submission:
- The request is sent via Digital Post to the Danish company that exported goods purchased from you.
- Once the request is approved, the system automatically reduces your reported quantities for the relevant year.
Special Rule for Packaging
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency permits companies with producer responsibility for packaging to exclude quantities that can be documented as exported from their reporting obligations. Companies may either establish internal procedures for self-monitoring and documentation of exported quantities or use the digital reporting function for reduction quantities. If a company previously reported quantities that later prove to have been exported and does not wish to use the reduction function, it can amend its reported figures during an open reporting period through the Adjust Report track.
