Advisory board for Collective Schemes
Here you can find information about DPA’s advisory board for Collective Schemes and access minutes from previous meetings. This section provides an overview of the advisory board’s role, activities, and discussions.
Purpose and Responsibilities
The purpose of the advisory board for Collective Schemes is to support collaboration and communication between Danish Producer Responsibility (DPA) and collective schemes across product areas. The advisory board provides a structured forum for ongoing knowledge sharing and dialogue, ensuring that the experience and perspectives of collective schemes are reflected in DPA’s work. It also enables DPA to share information about the administration and ongoing development of producer responsibility in a structured manner.
The advisory board serves in an advisory capacity to DPA’s Board of Directors and organisation, providing input on both strategic and operational matters. It discusses practical aspects of producer responsibility and may make recommendations on how obligations can be managed within the framework of existing legislation while ensuring a level playing field among collective schemes. DPA’s Board of Directors is not obliged to follow the advisory board’s recommendations.
The advisory board’s responsibilities relate exclusively to the legislative areas and functions delegated to DPA. Its role is therefore limited to matters within DPA’s remit. Activities may include:
- Advising on the implementation of legislation, regulation, and policy initiatives affecting DPA’s areas of responsibility.
- Evaluating ongoing and completed projects and providing recommendations for future initiatives.
- Discussing relevant topics and providing input on matters of importance to collective schemes and producer responsibility.
Appointment of Members
Each collective scheme appoints one representative employed by that scheme to serve on the advisory board. Where multiple collective schemes operate under the same board structure or similar corporate arrangement, only one joint representative may be appointed.
All collective schemes representing more than 25 producers are invited to participate and appoint a representative. Appointed representatives serve for the full term of appointment.
Members are appointed for a two-year term.
The first appointments will take place in August 2026.
