WEEE Directive, background and purpose

This document describes the background and purpose of the EU WEEE Directive that introduced producer responsibility for WEEE in Denmark in April 2006. The issues of environmental considerations, collection targets, requirements for recycling as well as product design, resource consumption and optimisation are discussed.
