We change IT systems, and this will affect you

In September 2025 we will change our IT system for the producer responsibility for electronics.

We do this to ensure that our solutions continue to be up-to-date, complying with the requirements and expectations for modern IT solutions. At the same time, we gather all producer responsibility areas in one system, so you as a user get a more uniform user experience. You can access the new system through virk.dk, where you will get one entry to the producer register.

What happens to your data – and when does the old system close?

In connection with the transfer to the new IT system we will make sure to migrate the information necessary to ensure a smooth transfer. This means that the following data is migrated:

  • quantitative data from 2020 onwards
  • active relations between you, your collective schemes, and your authorised representative, if relevant
  • active collection sites, including fractions, number, equipment, and ownership
  • finalised auditor statements and management’s statements
  • annual reports.

Note! Auditor and management’s statements must be finalised no later than 17 August 2025 to be transferred to the new system.

As from 18 August the present system will be closed for changes. As from this date you cannot update or add data in the old system.

The new IT system is located at the same place on virk.dk as the product areas of Packaging, Single-use plastic products, and Fishing gear.

Producers should pay attention to the following

If your auditor corrects your quantities in the new IT system, the auditor’s corrections will be effective immediately when you approve the auditor statement. Therefore, by contrast to the previous procedure, you need not correct your quantities in the next reporting period based on your auditor’s corrections.

When we migrate the auditor statements, it will be in the form of PDF files. This means, however, that in the reporting period in 2026 you must yourselves enter the corrections that your auditor has made in 2025 for the quantities from the 2024 reporting year.

If you are listed as an inactive producer, we do not migrate your data. This means that you must re-register, if after 18 August you have a producer responsibility for electronics.

If you are already covered by producer responsibility for packaging, fishing gear, or single-use plastic products, you already have access to this system.

If you are not covered by one or more of these producer responsibility schemes, you must make sure to set up your rights on MitID so the right Producer responsibility: company is connected to the relevant users. This is done by following these guidelines:

The development of the new IT system means that for 2025 you may see an increase from previous years in your annual fee. This is due to the fact that annual fees are to cover DPA’s costs for development and operation of the platform, and this cost is borne this year.

Our calculation of the fee is based on reported quantities put on the market for each producer combined with DPA’s costs for development and administration. Thereby, the magnitude of the fee depends on the quantities you have put on the market.

As the costs for development of the new platform will be covered by this year’s fee, we expect the annual fee to decrease again next year.
